I decided to do something a bit different this week – there are some things I want to remind myself, and, like most people these days, I look at my phone numerous times during the day and I realised that the Lock Screen is the first thing I see each time I pick up my phone, so the perfect place to put these important reminders.
First I measured my phone screen, taking note of where the time and date are, then I cut some watercolour paper the same proportions as the phone (but larger). Then I got out my new Distress Stain Sprays – my favourite Distress products in one of my favourite mediums – spray. I made the two different backgrounds using sprays and water, and I coloured the chipboard with sprays too. I used the dressmakers dummy, some letters (it is amazing how much you can get out of an alphabet!), and some flourishes. I also used the burlap and canvas flowers set.
Once all the sprays were dry, I assembled the two pieces using my Dymo to add the words. I then carefully photographed them full on and loaded them on to my phone as Lock Screens – now I have two to choose from depending on what I need to remember the most.
If you would like to download and use my pieces you can download Remember The Why by clicking here, and You can Do Anything by clicking here. My phone is a Galaxy S4, so if you have something different it might change slightly.
