The Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2013 for March is Easter themed, and considering that, Easter Monday seemed a perfect time to spend some time making it. There were a number of steps in this tag.
The first thing to do was to cut out the rabbit in an ornate frame, I don’t have this particular frame, so I created my own shape using the rabbit in the middle and handcutting around the outside. After sanding and adding Distress Inks to the edge, I used gold tinsle ribbon instead of silver, and coloured it with Alcohol Inks and heated to melt the tinsle slightly. Next I coloured some seam binding with Distress Stain, dried it with crinkles, and tied it around the rabbit and background.
I don’t have the tapered fringe die, so I cut a strip to the right length, then I cut it with my knife to make the grass. After sticking this on I curled it with my finger.
I handcut a banner, stamped the word ‘Believe’ and distressed it. I coloured another piece of seam binding with Distress Stains.
I love the flowers! I used metal foliage and painted them with Distress Paints and dried them off. Then they were layered and stuck onto the tag, they look very cool.
